THE NOTE:

You may want to do a partial disassembly to make sure that you don't have a reground crank or rebored block.  If you do have either, you will have to order appropriate oversize bearings before completing the project.

While things are apart, inspect the crank journals as you go. If you find a damaged crank journal, STOP!  Further attempts to avoid a rebuild are fruitless, and you should bite the bullet and pull the engine.
